Baby related mailings
Baby MPS is a free service which allows you to register not to receive baby related mailings. Companies that screen against the Baby MPS register are advised how your circumstances have changed as well as your preference not to receive further mailings about baby products and services, and they remove your name from their mailing lists.
Companies who are not members of the Data & Marketing Association and Baby MPS may not be aware of your circumstances and may have to be notified directly by you. You may also continue to receive mailings from companies you have an existing relationship with; if so, please contact them directly.
Bogus Baby MPS calls
Baby MPS will never contact you for personal information or payment. If you registered online and clicked the confirmation link within your email, your details will be registered with Baby MPS. No further communication will be made regarding your free registration.
If you receive a call from someone claiming to be from Baby MPS or a similar organisation asking for personal details or charging for a service, it is not the Baby MPS you registered with but another organisation offering similar services. If you received such a call, please send details to bmps@dma.org.uk.
Other unsolicited mail
Baby MPS only covers baby related mailings. To reduce other unsolicited, personally addressed direct marketing mail, please register with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS), which is also free and run by the DMA.
Mailings addressed to "The Occupier" or "The Homeowner" which include your postal address can only be stopped by contacting the mailers directly, asking them to suppress your address details from their listings.
Mailings from overseas
Baby MPS cannot take complaints about mailings that originate from overseas, as our service is limited to UK organisations.
If the mailing you received was from a reputable organisation sending out advertising mail, you can contact the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), which administers the UK Advertising Codes. The ASA recommends that you first write to the company concerned and, if your request is unsuccessful, contact the ASA directly.

Opting out of Royal Mail's Door to Door Service & unaddressed mail
Baby MPS cannot stop unaddressed mail. The Royal Mail's Door to Door opt-out service relates to unaddressed mail delivered by your postperson.
Royal Mail is legally obliged to deliver all addressed mail. This includes mail addressed "To the Occupier", "The Homeowner" (or with any other generic recipient information), as well as mail personally addressed to you by name.
