What is Baby MPS?
Baby MPS is a free service which allows you to register not to receive baby related mailings. It was launched in 2002 to enable parents who have suffered a miscarriage or the bereavement of a baby to register their wish not to receive baby related mailings.
By checking the information Baby MPS makes available to them, companies are advised how your circumstances have changed as well as your preference not to receive further mailings about baby products and services.
Since Baby MPS registration is updated daily, companies have access to the most up-to-date information possible.
They will, of course, respond sympathetically and remove your name from their mailing lists. For you, it means you will still get the post you want. You'll just receive significantly less of the post you don't want.
It's important to note that companies who are not members of the Data & Marketing Association and Baby MPS may not be aware of your circumstances and may have to be notified directly by you.
Registering with Baby MPS is FREE
Registration is free of charge and there is no requirement for you to renew once registered. Your details remain on the Baby MPS register until you ask us to remove them.
Baby MPS will never contact you asking for payment or for further personal information to complete your registration. If you receive such a call it is not from Baby MPS; please let us know at bmps@dma.org.uk.
DMA
Baby MPS is managed by the Data & Marketing Association (DMA), the UK's trade association for the data and marketing industry. Our vision is a data and marketing industry where every organisation takes a 'customer-first' approach. As the voice of the data and marketing industry, our responsibility is to prove the responsible and innovative use of data in marketing drives business growth. We set the standards for the good of marketers, and most importantly, customers. With over 700 organisations, the DMA is the UK's largest community made up of 27,000+ marketers.
Guided by our customer-first principles enshrined in the DMA Code, we champion a rich fusion of technology, diverse talent, creativity, research and insight to set standards for the UK's data and marketing community to meet in order to thrive. DMA members are required by the DMA Code to screen their baby related mailings against the Baby MPS register.
Baby MPS is one of the DMA's preference services. For fewer unsolicited mailings of all kinds, you can also register with the Mailing Preference Service (MPS), which was set up in 1983 and is actively supported by the Royal Mail and fully supported by The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
